Hacettepe University I.I.B.F. Having completed his bachelor’s degree from the Department of Economics and his master’s degree in economics at the same faculty, Bülent Gökdemir received his master’s degree in International Law from the University of Dundee in the UK, Hacettepe University I.I.B.F. He has a PhD degree from the Department of Finance.
Having worked as a “Chief Expert” at the Competition Authority for many years, both in the professional departments conducting investigations and in the Economic Analysis and Research department, Gökdemir has worked as a Project Manager at the United Nations Development Program on temporary assignments and as a Group Consultant at the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
Gökdemir has given undergraduate courses on competition, regulation and digital economy as a part-time lecturer at METU. He will give a master’s course “Competition Law and Economics” at the Faculty of Political Sciences of Ankara University in the upcoming academic semester.
Gökdemir, who has carried out studies /projects related to economics, law and regulatory policies with NGOs such as TÜSIAD, TOBB, TEPAV, Exporters’ Associations, has a large number of published articles and books.
Gökdemir retired in 2025 after 26 years of experience as Chief Competition Specialist and founded VALIS Consultancy Company, which provides consultancy services in the field of competition and regulation. He is currently consulting for many national and international companies.
